

WIFN Launch: It’s Time…
CFA Society Perth is pleased to announce the launch of its Women in Finance Network. It’s Time… will be on Monday 26th November 2018 at the UWA Club.
Our panel features sisters Alison Gaines and Elizabeth Gaines who have both carved out successful and prominent careers in business. The conversation will be led by Heather Zampatti, a well-known leader in the financial services industry with an impressive CV of senior roles and directorships.
This event is the first step towards our goal of improving female representation in the finance and investment industry in Perth. We invite you to come along to be inspired and hear insights from Elizabeth, Alison and Heather. This event is a great chance to network with others equally passionate about the industry and empowering women.

Elizabeth Gaines
Elizabeth Gaines commenced as Chief Executive Officer of Fortescue Metals Group in February 2018.
After joining Fortescue as a Non-Executive Director in February 2013, Elizabeth was appointed Chief Financial Officer and Executive Director in February 2017. She is a former Chief Executive Officer of Helloworld Limited and Heytesbury Pty Limited and has also held the position of Chief Financial Officer at Stella Group and Entertainment Rights Plc.
A highly experienced business leader with extensive international experience as a Chief Executive Officer and group executive, Elizabeth has a proven track record in financial and operational leadership across several industries, including resources, construction and infrastructure, financial services and travel and hospitality.
Elizabeth has significant exposure to the impact of the growth in Asian economies, particularly China, on the Australian business environment and economy as well as a deep understanding of all aspects of financial and commercial management at a senior executive level in both listed and private companies.

Alison Gaines
Alison Gaines is a member of the leadership team of Gerard Daniels, since 2006, and was appointed the Chief Executive Officer on 1 July 2018 responsible for the global business, in Perth, Sydney, London and Houston. Her practice area focuses on board and executive appointments and providing wider governance performance consulting.
Alison has extensive non-executive director and director experience accrued over thirty years, in the not for profits, mutuals and public sectors, higher education and professional and management education.
Alison was Chief Executive Officer of the Law Society of Western Australia Inc. for nine years, also responsible for a charity, industry superannuation fund and insurance mutual. She was previously a Director in the Public Sector Management Office (Western Australian Government), responsible for whole of government strategic human resource policy and executive employment.
Alison is President of the Australian Institute of Management WA, Governor of The College of Law Ltd Australasia, Deputy President of the INSEAD Director Network, a global club, and a member of the 30% Club.

Heather Zampatti
Heather has over 30 years’ experience in investment advising and providing investors with professional portfolio management.
Her expertise covers the full range of investment options including advice on cash,fixed interest, stockbroking and financial investment policy and strategy.
Heather works with Foundations, Institutions, Not-for-Profit Organisations, individuals and Superannuation Funds to ensure their investments are aligned to their specific objectives and priorities. The combination of experience and expertise enables her to advise and manage investment portfolios for a range of organisations.
Heather is immediate past Chair of Lotterywest. She sits on the boards of the Federal Government Renumeration Tribunal, Healthways, Osteoporosis Australia, The University of Western Australia University Club and ASIC Financial Services Consultative Committee.
Heather is the former member of The Australian Government’s Takeovers Panel, WA Regional Council of FINSIA, Chair of Princess Margaret Hospital Foundation, WA Ballet, Australian Institute of Management (WA), Chief Executive Women and The Financial Sector Advisory Council. Heather lectures for the Australian Stock Exchange and FINSIA and gives many public seminars.
